On 23rd April 2026, ModularPlastik attended the SDC Sustainable Design Collective Forum at Crypt on the Green, hosted by Harsha Kotak and Joanna Knight. The event opened with a talk from Dr Valerie Vaughan-Dick MBE on sustainability leadership as an ongoing commitment through knowledge sharing and training.
One idea from the first panel: the Digital Product Passport. As this EU framework develops, it opens a way to communicate the full story of a material from origin to lifecycle. Not just what a product is, but where it has been, how it was made, and what it carries forward.
A speed networking session shifted the dynamic from passive listening to active dialogue. One moment of discovery: volcanic stone waste transformed into acoustic panels by Rockfon, reducing noise and reshaping how a space feels and functions.
For ModularPlastik, the event reinforced that sustainability is not a single solution. It is a constantly evolving ecosystem of ideas, materials, and collaborations.
