This July, we joined The Dots at Apple Covent Garden for their Made for Business workshop - a gathering focused on helping creative entrepreneurs grow and fund their businesses with clarity, purpose, and the right tools.
Hosted by Pip Jamieson and the team behind The Dots, the event created a powerful space for real conversations. From early-stage startups to fast-scaling creative studios, the room was full of people looking to turn strong ideas into sustainable businesses.
Hearing from founders like Amy Thomson of Moody Month, Vivien Wong of Little Moons, and Lee Fairbrother of For Different gave us a glimpse into the reality behind well-known brands. They spoke honestly about raising investment, staying true to your vision, and the ongoing challenge of balancing creativity with business demands.
Each shared practical strategies, lessons from failure, and insights into what it really takes to grow something meaningful in today's world.

As a studio working at the intersection of sustainability and design, we often find ourselves balancing creative ambition with practical business needs. This workshop reminded us that we are not alone in that journey.
Speaking with other founders and industry leaders helped us frame new questions about how we scale ModularPlastik, where we find aligned investment, and how we stay mission-driven while growing.

What stood out most was the generosity in the room. People were open, curious, and willing to share what had worked and what hadn't. We walked away with new contacts, fresh ideas, and a stronger sense of direction.
It wasn't just a networking event — it was a moment of real exchange. Thank you to Pip and The Dots team for curating something so meaningful, and to everyone we met. We are excited to keep the conversations going.
